On the 21st July The Old Woodstock Mock Mayor election returned with a bang! This event has been happening since the eighteenth century, and this year proceeds were raised for Oxfordshire Mind and The Woodstock Youth Club.
The village fete was held at The Black Prince in Woodstock and hosted family entertainment, games and stalls including Pimms and Prosecco, china smashing and hook-a-duck. The day’s festivities were followed by the Mock Mayor elections and procession through the grounds of Blenheim Palace, dunking in the river and music, BBQ and dancing in the evening.
To round up the evening, a raffle was held with a fantastic £750 raised for Oxfordshire Mind.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended, to the many businesses who donated items for the raffle and to the brilliant Old Woodstock Mock Mayor committee.
