New Fathers Research

In the UK approximately 10% of new fathers will experience low mood after the birth of their child.

New research at the University of Oxford is looking into help-seeking behaviours in men to understand how services can better support fathers with depression to access the help they need.

Researchers are currently recruiting men who have experienced low mood in the past two years who would be interested in taking part in research. We are recruiting men who have recently become fathers, as well as men who have not had a child in the past 2 years.

We are asking men to take part in a one-off, anonymous online survey which takes around 10 minutes. The results of the project will be written up as part of a doctoral thesis at the University of Oxford and submitted for publication in an academic journal to support new fathers to access the mental health support they need.
