OMHP will be hosting a booth celebrating the annual event in Oxford.
Oxfordshire Mental Health Partnership (OMHP) is joining the crowds on Saturday 1 June at Oxford Pride, Oxford’s annual event dedicated to celebrating lesbian, gay, bi, trans, intersex and queer life in the county.
Stop by our stall to talk with staff and volunteers about Oxfordshire Mental Health Partnership and how we’re helping people from all walks of life who have a mental health condition or have experienced mental ill health in the past.
The partnership is made up of NHS and charity organisations in the county working together to support adults locally. They are Restore, Oxfordshire Mind, Response, Connection Support, Elmore Community Service, Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust.
OMHP chairman Dan Knowles, who is also chief executive of Oxfordshire Mind, said: “Pride is a superb event – fun and inspirational. I’m delighted that Oxfordshire Mental Health Partnership will be hosting it’s biggest ever stand this year and we look forward to taking part. Evidence suggests people identifying as LGBT are at higher risk of experiencing poor mental health and we will be there to make sure people know where to go if they need help.”
This year Pride Festival is running from 17 May to 2 June in Oxfordshire with a parade and pride day in Oxford city centre on Saturday 1 June.
The parade starts at midday at Radcliffe Square and travels through the city to Oxford Castle Quarter OX1 1AY.
You can follow all the day’s events on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtags #OxfordPride, #Proud, and #LGBT.
