Cherwell and West Art Week

Throughout the month of November our Cherwell and West Wellbeing team hosted a variety of creative activities at our Banbury Wellbeing Hub.

Continuing on from the work with The National Trust at Stowe staff and service users were asked to take part in a Georgian Christmas Wreath trail they are making in collaboration with the community artist Miranda La Mutanta. Together the team came up with the theme of a Mini Ice Age and created intricate individual snowflakes on discs of wood. The artist will hang these to create an Oxfordshire Mind Christmas wreath in the beautiful gardens of Stowe.

Following on from this, an Oxfordshire Mind colleague and professional artist Lyn Tivenan offered staff an afternoon of team building. Staff learnt how to make felt acorns and then block printed wrapping paper and little hessian gift bags, just in time for the festive season!

Lastly, Susan from the Oxford University Museums Outreach Team visited the Banbury Wellbeing Hub to deliver a wonderful mosaic making workshop. Prior to this staff and service users visited the Pompeii Exhibition at the Ashmolean Museum and saw some outstanding mosaics. Staff and service users really value the work which is done in partnership with the Ashmolean and are looking forward to the annual Christmas wreath making session which will be held later this month.
