Oxford’s biggest comedy event of the year is back!
Since 2017, Jericho Comedy has been raising vital funds for Oxfordshire Mind through their comedy events. Their weekly sell-out comedy shows, and annual Comedy Gala has raised over £100,000 for the local mental health charity.
Since the first sell-out event, the Comedy Gala has been a roaring success and a staple in the Oxfordshire calendar. The Comedy Gala has previously hosted big names such as Nish Kumar, Rosie Jones, James Acaster, Rachel Parris, Ivo Graham, Ed Gamble, and Hal Cruttenden.
This year’s Comedy Gala is taking place at The Oxford Playhouse on 14th January 2023, with star acts prepared to light up the stage.
Comedians
Rachel Parris is a BAFTA Nominated comedian, best known for her viral segments on BBC2’s The Mash Report. She has appeared on Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week and Would I Lie To You. u0022Beautifully crafted and performed…tears of laughteru0022 Guardian.
Abi Clarke took the internet by storm in 2020, amassing over a million followers on social media. Abi was named one of the eleven comedy stars of the internet by The Independent and has supported Russell Kane and Russell Howard around the UK.
Chelsea Birkby talks frankly and hilariously about the nature of mental health. She has written for Mock the Week and was featured in the top 20 jokes of the Edinburgh fringe 2022 (The Telegraph u0026amp; The Times). “Star in the making Chelsea Birkby is no stranger to these galas and is a real talent” Oxford Mail.
Mr Saturday night himself, Alex Farrow is the resident host of Jericho Comedy’s weekly Saturday night shows. His quick wit, smooth charm and controlled MCing have helped Jericho Comedy gain a reputation as one of the best comedy clubs around (Chortle Award Best Comedy Night in the region – 2019 u0026amp; 2020). “Practically perfect in every way” (The Scotsman.)
is one of the most exciting and unique new comic voices to emerge from the London circuit. A British-Sikh performer with energy, raw wit and heart, the in demand Daman is known for his topical writing, acute observations and imaginative storytelling.
A Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist (2018) and winner of English Comedian of the Year (2018), Nick’s comedy is packed full of stories with jokes from start to finish. Between pubs, theatres, cruises and expat bookings, Nick has now performed in over half the world’s countries.

The Oxfordshire Mind Comedy Gala is like a second Christmas for Jericho Comedy, it’s a jolly day that comes once a year. Over a thousand people come along for a fantastic day of comedy.
