This Good Friday, the fantastic Jack Lester hosted a Garden Gig in aid of Oxfordshire Mind.
Jack performed for more than 2 hours in his garden, streaming it on Facebook LIVE for everyone to enjoy and requesting donations to the charity. With over 400 people tuning in to be entertained, sing along and have their spirits lifted, Jack and his viewers raised an incredible £2,300 for Oxfordshire Mind!
I started doing the gigs as just a bit of fun really, but had such an incredible response and some amazing messages from people who it seemed to be really helping during this tough period we’re all in. There was a huge togetherness feel about it. So we decided to raise some money for the NHS of which we’ve raised £3500 so far and last Friday after working with Leanne (Oxfordshire Mind Community Fundraiser), managed to raise £2,300 for Oxfordshire Mind, which is amazing.
It’s nice to see how happy people are once you’ve done a live stream or played a song they’ve requested, I’ve had some amazing heartfelt messages, it’s quite overwhelming at times.
Oxfordshire Mind has always been a charity close to my heart and a charity which I’m sure is going through a very tough time given the circumstances with COVID-19 currently. So it’s amazing to be able to raise a nice amount of cash to help such an amazing cause.
