Home Working Wellbeing Challenge
Wellbeing and physical exercise go hand in hand. It is important to stay active, stay connected and keep our spirits up while we’re spending more time at home.
We have launched our 7k in 7 Days Challenge to keep you active while working from home.
We are asking our supporters to challenge themselves and each other to take on an active challenge. Join by setting up a Just Giving page and ask friends and colleagues to sponsor you!
Take on the challenge to keep fit and raise funds for Oxfordshire Mind!
Home Working Wellbeing Challenge
Our Physical Activity & Wellbeing Team have created routines for you to follow:
See our Home Workout tips below:
- Make the most of your leaving your house once a day for a walk, jog or bike ride – adhering to government guidelines
- Put on comfortable clothing that you are happy exercising in when you first wake up – this will encourage you to exercise throughout the day
- Try exercising at a time that you’d normally commute to work
- Have regular breaks from work for exercises and stretches – little and often can be less intimidating!
- Seated chair exercises and stretches– The NHS website has some great ideas
- Dancing
- Gardening
- Housework (Not the most fun, but put on your own music and this can definitely be a workout)
- Walk the stairs at home/apartment block (within safety restrictions)
- Try something new – there are masses of free classes online at the moment
- Set yourself a goal or challenge – this can be related to the number of steps you do, trying a new exercise, going up and down the stairs a certain amount of times etc.
- Most importantly – do something that you enjoy!
