The Kokroachez
So pleased to have the support of young local band The Kokroachez. 16-17 year-old musicians Ella-Mae Edwards, Jamie Berry, Jim Green and Anna Guillain who are all studying at the Oxford Institute of Music and got in touch with us about supporting Oxfordshire Mind at their next gig.
The gig was held at The Woodstock Social Club on the 6th of May and was unsurprisingly (they’re very talented musicians!) a huge success raising £600 for Oxfordshire Mind. Oxfordshire Mind’s Wellbeing Worker Julie Green was in attendance providing support and information leaflets as well as bucket collecting.
“I honestly thought if we could raise £250 we would do well, but we’ve raised a whopping £600!! The gig was EPIC!!”
Julie Green
Their new releases feature three tracks fizzing with teenage spirit, political frustration and generational angst. From indie pop to the tragically heartfelt lyrics of the opening track, Misunderstood, the distorted guitars and anti-establishment rage of Never Enough, right through to the final track Pest Control, are a great introduction to The Kokroachez and you can listen to it here.
We cannot thank you enough for all your support and look forward to watching you grow!
