We are really pleased to be offering one charity place for the 2017 London Marathon.
We are delighted to be working with National Mind, as part of the Heads Together campaign, on this exciting fundraising opportunity to offer places in this world-leading and popular marathon.
The Royal Foundation, the primary charitable organisation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, have been granted Charity of the Year status for the Virgin Money London Marathon 2017. As part of their commitment to mental health, The Royal Foundation have recently launched their Heads Together campaign which will raise awareness and funds for mental health causes. This is the first time that the London Marathon has chosen to champion mental health and it is another significant step towards ending mental health stigma.
How to run for Oxfordshire Mind
National Mind have invited local Minds across the UK to take up their charity places for the marathon. Therefore Oxfordshire Mind will be allocated one place for the run. We can submit up to three applications, but only one will be successful.
What do I have to do?
To gain this charity place, you have to:
- Fill in an application form, and be chosen by National Mind
- Agree to pay the £100 entry fee
- Agree to raise a minimum of £2,000 for Oxfordshire Mind
How will the runners be chosen?
The applications will be assessed by National Mind who will then allocate the charity place.
How can I apply?
If you’d like to apply for a place, then please email fundraising@oxfordshiremind.org.uk and we will send you some information about how to apply. Please note that applications will be welcome on a first come, first serve basis so please get your requests in early as we can only submit three applications.
The deadline to receive applications is 17 June 2016.
All runners will be supported by the Mind Events Fundraising team to help you raise the £2,000 target. We, as your local Mind, will also stay in touch to support you.
Good luck!
