The proposed £1.6 million cut to Mental Health funding will pose a threat to survivors of rape and sexual abuse, denying them access to vital support.
Lisa Ward, the Director of Oxfordshire Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre, stands against the funding cut, which would significantly decrease Oxfordshire County Council’s overall contribution to mental health services from £8m to £6.4m by 2022.
Oxfordshire Mind, alongside the five other organisations forming the Oxfordshire Mental Health Partnership – Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, Restore, Elmore Community Services, Connection Support and Response – has written an open letter advising county councillors to reject the proposal.
