My Life Fest 2021

This year we are proud to bring this annual live event to you virtually. Connection Support a partner of our Oxfordshire Mental Health Partnership (OMHP) platform facilitated this client-led initiative.

We are highlighting the creativity through a virtual booklet ranging from poetry, photography, painting and music alongside a live recording of My Life Fest on You Tube which provides depth to each client story and their mental health journey.

What is OMHP?

The Oxfordshire Mental Health Partnership (OMHP) brings together six local mental health organisations from the NHS and charity sectors. The partners include Oxford Health, Restore, Oxfordshire Mind, Elmore Community Services, Response and Connection Support.

Tell me more about My Life Fest

This annual event allows people with mental health conditions to be creative in a range of different art forms while continuing to break down the stigma of mental health conditions.

Normally the event is held at a local site allowing people the opportunity to meet other individuals, get involved in group sessions and challenge people’s thoughts on mental health.

Cate de Buriatte, Mental Health Support Worker at Connection Support who facilitated the client-led initiative this year: “The My Life Fest booklet and live event is a clear demonstration of the talent and commitment there is within the Oxfordshire Mental Health Partnership, and how although we have been faced with such difficult circumstances, the clients were determined not to let a pandemic stop this annual client-led event!”

“There is no denying that the past year has had an impact on everyone’s mental health. We hope this booklet is a reminder that creativity can be so powerful in improving your wellbeing and encourage positivity, but also that you are not alone.”

I urge you to listen and take a look at the client’s work – they may well resonate with you and encourage you to pick up a paintbrush, pen or camera and get creative!”
