‘The Gin Collective’ is a group of Oxfordshire musicians, that joined forces just over a month ago, to write and record a new song called ‘Lockdown Lady’ and all proceeds go to supporting Oxfordshire Mind services.
That’s right! Five musicians who had no previous acquaintance and have never met in person were thrown together to make a charity single online. This has all been a part of the annual international day of celebration on June 21, in the run-up to Make Music Day Oxfordshire.
They virtually “met” via Zoom, dreamed up ideas, wrote, refined, produced, recorded, performed and filmed Lockdown Lady in a month.
Guitar player Scott Gordon said: “We call ourselves The Gin Collective, and you can hear and download our lovely Lockdown Lady at thegincollective.bandcamp.com and see our very fine (daft) video on YouTube.”
We look forward to hearing updates from The Gin Collective and encourage everyone who hasn’t yet heard the single, to head to their website, where you can buy the digital track for £1, or YouTube today.
