“This year Mental Health Awareness Week comes with a backdrop of increased publicity around mental health. From Royalty to Premiership footballers, people are being more open with their own experiences. The stigma associated with mental health is steadily being reduced – but we have a long long way to go.
Oxfordshire Mind has been helping people facing mental health challenges in this county for over 50 years, and demand for our services has never been higher. We aim to give everyone support and respect, and we are passionate about making access to mental health treatments free and accessible to anyone who needs them.
Oxfordshire Mind are proud to help and support people with any mental health issue through a variety of means. We provide information through our free information service, we give individual guidance, and run a wide programme of Wellbeing activities, our Housing service, and therapy through the Talking Space Plus programme. This year we will help over 20,000 people in one way or another.
Each day during Mental Health Awareness week we will focus on one specific topic or piece of work – check out our facebook page and twitter feed as the week goes on!”
