In memory of Smitty Snowden

Oxfordshire Mind are very sorry to announce that Smitty Snowden passed away on the 18th June, alongside close family and loved ones. Smitty was a long-standing staff member of Oxfordshire Mind and later became a Trustee. Her passion for helping and caring for people made Smitty a treasured member of the local community.

When working for Oxfordshire Mind she started as an Office Administrator and later become the Office Manager. Smitty then became a Trustee for Oxfordshire Mind, she represented the Board on the Equality and Inclusion Action Group and was a valued member of the HR Sub-Committee. Smitty was a firm believer in increasing awareness around mental health and promoting Parity of Esteem. This year Oxfordshire Mind Housing were proud to open up ‘Smitty Snowden House’ in Oxford, in recognition of her lifelong contribution to Oxfordshire Mind and the services we provide.
Our deepest condolences go out to Smitty’s family at this difficult time.

For those of you who wish to attend, the funeral arrangements for Smitty Snowden have been finalised.

The service will be at 1pm on Friday 13th July at the Oxford Crematorium – all the Mind family is invited.

We are asking everyone who attends to wear a flower of their choosing – both in celebration of Smitty’s love of flowers and to brighten things.

Afterwards, there will be a buffet reception at The Bear & Ragged Staff, Cumnor village.

If you are planning on attending it would be much appreciated if you could let the Oxfordshire Mind office know, on either info@oxfordshiremind.org.uk, or 01865 247788.
