Sarah moved to Mind after leading the Centre for Mental Health saying, “We have done some extraordinary work together over the last six years, fighting for mental health equality”, and has also held roles on the Football Association Inclusive Advisory Board and Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Integrated Care Board. She is a trustee of the International Initiative for Mental Health Leadership.
In 2022 Youth in Mind’s keynote speaker Kevin Gordon, Oxfordshire County Council’s Director of Children’s Services, sounded an alarm for our sector saying, “We are facing a tsunami of mental health problems for children and young people and unless we do things differently we won’t be able to meet demand”. This astounding warning compels us to come together. Against a back-drop of budget constraints and service cuts, it is vital if we are to continue supporting our children and young people that statutory services, school and voluntary organisation staff seize this opportunity for cross-sector creative thinking and problem solving.
