At the start of November, we hosted two online workshops led by Dan Knowles, Oxfordshire Mind’s CEO. The sessions were a chance to gain input from service users, volunteers and stakeholders around what should be the focus of Oxfordshire Mind’s new organisational strategy, which will shape our direction for the next three years.
This was the first of several opportunities we will be taking to gain input from people who interact with our services, to ensure that Oxfordshire Mind’s future is shaped by the people who use it.
12 people attended and shared their views on what Oxfordshire Mind does well and what we could focus on in the future.
Some of the key themes that attendees raised were around:
- Making our services accessible
- Making services easy to navigate
- Building long-term communication and relationships with people who use our services
- Providing extra support in the community
- Filling the gaps in mental health services
- Never turning anybody away

The feedback collected is being used to form a basis for the next stage of the strategy’s development, and we will be reaching out for further input from anybody who uses, volunteers, or works for Oxfordshire Mind, to help us narrow down our key goals and priorities for the next three years.
