This Co-production week, we recognise the importance of working in partnership with the people who use our services. Thank you to everyone sharing your lived experience expertise to help us continually improve our services, fight stigma, and support people across Oxfordshire. As we move forward, we pledge to keep building on our Service User Involvement work and to aim always for a co-productive approach.
Keep reading to hear why co-production is important to the people who use our services:
Co-production is important to me because….
“I like being able to offer productive advice to Oxfordshire Mind and help others who are struggling”
“I have been given an opportunity to help local people living across Oxfordshire who are experiencing mental distress, to find a way forward”
“It is very empowering and fulfilling”
“By being someone who has experience of what’s out there to help people like me, I can give feedback and actually influence how to best offer support to others in the future.”
“To be part of a team and being able to share within the team my experiences is crucial in the development of a project.”
“It helps shape the service directly according to the needs of its service users.”
Being involved makes me feel….
“Like I am owning my mental health and helps me to appreciate what I have learnt along my mental health journey.”
“Valued by being involved in matters relating to mental health experienced by individuals and local communities in Oxfordshire”
“Together we can take steady steps into the uncertain but often rewarding world that is called ‘recovery’”
“Like I can really make a difference in people’s lives for the better, just like the team did for me. It’s a great way to pay it forward.”
“Very proud to be part of something bigger than myself, it being very interesting work and that I am passing my experiences on.”
“Valued and listened to. My thoughts and feelings are listened to and can help to inform decisions in the Mind organisation and other organisations that are linked to it.”
