In light of the current Covid-19 pandemic and the Governments recommendations, the Bike Oxford organisers have taken the difficult decision to postpone Bike Oxford 2020.
Please see the message below:
Dear cyclists, supporters, and friends,
In light of the current Covid-19 pandemic we have taken the difficult decision to postpone Bike Oxford 2020. We fully support the need to avoid non-essential social contact, limit large gatherings, and work together to play our part in limiting the spread of the virus.
We have taken this decision early not just as a small business that wants to provide certainty to the brilliant teams involved in making this event happen every year, but as members of the cycling community who love to ride our bikes together.
Please do keep an eye out for updates from us as the situation develops. We are working with our stakeholders in Oxford and Chipping Norton as well as the Cowley Road Condors to find an alternative date, ideally in late summer – should conditions permit.
Of course, those of you who have bought tickets will see these honoured at either the new Bike Oxford 2020 date or your choice of Iconic event in 2020 or 2021.
We hope those of you who have been excited to ride this year’s fantastic routes from Oxford and Chipping Norton won’t be disappointed, but will join us in doing what we can to protect the health of our communities, families, and ourselves in the coming weeks.
Kind regards,
Richard Best and the Iconic Cycling Events team
