Meet Alex, one of our fantastic supporters! Alex is not only running the London Marathon in aid of Oxfordshire Mind this year, she is attempting to break the world record for the fastest (female) marathon runner dressed as a zombie!
Alex said: “I’ve done many marathons and some ultramarathons, and find the routine of training and being outdoors in nature really supports my mental health. Running the London marathon is a truly life affirming experience – there’s no buzz quite like running over Tower Bridge past screaming crowds. But for this year’s London marathon I wanted to do something different, to challenge myself in a new way, and to raise awareness of mental heath in the process. So I’m attempting to break the world record for the fastest (female) marathon dressed as a zombie. I’ll once again be running in memory of my nephew Zak, who tragically took his own life at the age of 21, and raising funds for the amazing Oxfordshire Mind”.
A big thank you to the wonderful Alex, and everyone else taking on the challenging London Marathon in aid of Oxfordshire Mind this year, you’re all amazing! 👟
