Maureen Bobby, a worker at Oxfordshire Mind, is competing in the London Marathon!
Maureen has never been a runner but is welcoming this challenge to raise money for Oxfordshire Mind, a charity close to her heart. Maureen says “I have never been a runner but I have walked some long distances, and climbed some mountains. Reaching the age of 65 and losing over 7 stone in weight, I have decided to really challenge myself and when the London Marathon was it seemed to be the most obvious choice. I know it is not going to be easy, but I will finish, albeit it probably last! In order to compete in the London Marathon I aim to raise £2000 for Oxfordshire Mind, I would really appreciate any sponsorship no matter how small! Thank you to every for the continued support!”
This year the London Marathon has a key focus on mental health with the #headstogether campaign sponsoring the event, we welcome this campaign and the added awareness it is giving to help break the stigma surrounding mental health.
